I am working with gimp
they have two use-cases of color management
1) soft proof
2) hard proof

I can't tell if you can use an encoded working space
like u'v'l xyY, etc., that might lend itself to more
sophisticated editing, maybe it is there and I am missing it

covered in editing use-case in Colors/Maps/Alien Map some

I don't see abstract profiles as an option in either use-case

"recording" is on the gimp timeline, this could be used to
generate abstract profiles, but the use-case would have
to include them

why wait for the "recording" to use an abstract profile
now?

lCMS says it is a full implementation of ICC 4.3, including
abstract profiles

forgot to add that UCR/GCR/UCA might be better done in
chromaticity spaces like u'v'l xyY
don't really know but it seems like a place you
could get at the luminosity separate
