Post by DalePost by SavageduckPost by Daleanyone know where I can get standard color management images?
I prefer u'v'L, xyY, CIELUV and CIELAB
but would appreciate the standard RGBs too
thanks
I guess it depends on what your intentions are; photographic/camera,
monitor /printer calibration, print workspace setting, etc. Perhaps you
might consider starting with Pantone, Xrite, GretagMac, Robin Meyers
Imaging.

I have a inexpensive LCD monitor that has a profile
I have an inexpensive scanner/printer that I am
looking for profiles for
I have an Epson printer/scanner for my general printing and I use the
standard Epson profiles for that.
Post by DaleI am using Ubuntu and the system settings allow for
a monitor profile
...and having the tools for maintaining regular calibration of your
display is but a first step in good color management regardless of the
type of work you are doing.
I use a Pantone hueyPro which along with display calibration (which is
repeated every 14 days), it also runs *Room Light Compensation* which
adjusts the display for ambient light changes in the room. The Pantone
software is OSX & Windows only, no Linux.
With my Epson photo printer I use matched printer/paper icc profiles
from Red River Papers. With my Epson Artisan general use
printer/scanner I use standard Epson profiles. I only use Red River
Papers for my better quality photo prints.
Post by Dalegimp allows for getting the monitor profile from the
system, but I am looking for it
I am not a GIMP user and I would not really be able to give you any
useful advice in that regard. There are several others who quite
knowledgeable regarding GIMP, and who frequent the photo NGs. They
might be able to teach you what you need to know.
Post by Dalesomewhere my system was popluated with most of the
standard RGB profiles, etc.
I don't really expect to accomplish anything much
chromaticty diagrams, gamut plots, gimp plugins/scripts etc.
with gnuplot and a basic color tool kit to keep me busy
I was really looking for a gallery of things other
than targets, but I like targets too, Poyton's page
has a color check in xyY, guess I'll start there
Targets aren't going to be much help if the display isn't properly calibrated.
