Post by Saeideh GorjiPost by Gernot HoffmannPost by Saeideh GorjiDear Freinds,
Hi
I am searching for a method or software to use limited colors of a
printer. For example if my printer has the capability of an 8-ink set,
only 6 specified inks would be used. Is there any one to know any
solutions?
Kind regards,
Saeideh Gorji
ProfileMaker 5 offers some features (search Help > Multicolor,
if you have access to the program).
For instance, a CMYKcm printer can be profiled without
light ink c,m. Or a CMYKOG printer can be profiled without
O and G.

Dear Prof. Haffmann
Thanks a lot. I access to the ProfileMaker 5 program and based on your
description I search in the help but I couldn't do that. If it is
possible for you could you please add some additional description?
really thanks,
Saeideh Gorji
Hello, I'm referring to this chapter:
'Profiling MultiColor Printing Systems
MultiColor Printing Systems include large format printers and
printing
presses that work with more than four process colors to give printing
results of high saturation and brilliance.
The additional channels serve to extend the CMYK color space, not
to improve the dot print quality (as is the case with, for example
the
use of Light Magenta and Light Cyan). Frequently used high-fidelity
fulltone process colors are combinations of Orange and Green,
Orange and Violet blue or the combination Red, Green and Blue.
The best-known 6-channel output system, PANTONE® Hexachrome®,
is also supported ...'
Please don't use titles here (better use first name or
Mr.family_name).
